Texas-California rock duo Lift The Curse have never been short on ambition. Since launching in April 2022, Ryan Hegefeld and Jon Yadon Jr. have churned out four albums worth of hard rock anthems, amassing over 7.5 million Spotify streams and a devoted global fanbase in the process. With "House of Horrors," the prolific pair announce themselves at perhaps their most theatrically bold yet — a cinematic slab of heavy rock that draws inspiration from the dramatic darkness of My Chemical Romance and The Funeral Portrait. The track opens with a swing-influenced groove before erupting into crushing metal breakdowns, complete with eerily placed finger snaps that give the whole thing a stage-show pulse.
The retro horror-inspired music video is a fitting visual companion, mirroring the song's flair for the dramatic and leaning fully into its haunted aesthetic. Lyrically, the "house" serves as a metaphor for emotional entrapment — and the duo make you feel every locked door of it. The clean, emotionally charged vocals carry the melodic weight of the verses with conviction, though it's the heavier moments — where the guitars get genuinely crushing — that showcase just how far Lift The Curse have developed their sonic range. For fans of modern hard rock with a metal edge, this one is well worth stepping inside.
