John Mayer

John Mayer’s 2027 residency at Sphere in Las Vegas keeps growing. Three more shows have just been added, bringing the total to 21 dates. It began as a six-night April run and is now a spring-long engagement.

The residency was first announced on September 28 with six shows: April 8, 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18. General sales opened on October 9, after VIP and presale windows. Within days, Mayer doubled the run to a dozen shows by adding April 28 and 30 and May 1, 5, 7 and 8. A later extension took it to 18 dates, running through June 5, 2027, and the latest announcement adds three more.

Each night is built around three distinct sets. Mayer opens solo, leaning on acoustic guitar with some piano and electric playing, before moving to a full-band set. He then closes with the John Mayer Trio, his blues-rock project with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. Guitar World noted that it will be the first time Mayer has played with Palladino and Jordan since 2023, when the trio reunited at the Love Rocks benefit concert.

It is also Mayer’s first solo residency at the venue. He previously performed there as part of Dead & Company, so he knows the room. Sphere’s wraparound LED screen and its Immersive Sound system are designed to surround the audience, and promoters say that makes each show a distinctive spectacle.

Tickets started at $129 for the original dates. Fans who registered for presales through JohnMayer.com were able to access tickets for the added shows, and the official site carries details of the newest three nights.

The announcement follows Mayer’s appearance at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, which has kept his guitar playing at the center of the conversation. Sphere residencies have often been extended once the first dates sell well, and Mayer’s repeated extensions follow that pattern. With three weeks of shows added in under a month, the run now looks like one of the biggest Vegas residencies of 2027.
